And there will be opportunities for attendees to try passing and catching as well.

This is a trial event and, if well received, a much larger game will be included in the upcoming 400th Anniversary Commemorative of Champlain's first visit to Huronia in 1615.

Braves 2014 Season Brings Improved Performance

The 2014 lacrosse season finished up at the Ontario Championships in early August with Huronia Braves teams competing at higher levels in 4 of 6 divisions, and the presence of a second entry team at Peewee (a first in many years).

Unfortunately our club,  though we were very close, were unable to get a team into the playoff round.

All teams reported playing great games at the championships even as some faced a much tougher level of competition.

Our Tyke team competed at C division which after only our 3 year of competition was an amazing achievement. Novice, Peewee and Intermediate entries also "competed up a letter".

Our players and bench staff (some new to the sport) came away from this event getting much needed exposure and experience. The Ontario Championships provide our members with an excellent opportunity to measure our skill level relative to others, presents how this game is played at higher levels and to see what is possible when playing our national game.

Tha club now looks forward to preparing for the annual banquet set for Sept 8th at 6pm.

All 2014 members are invited to attend.
