Past, Present, Future Midland Braves Lacrosse

As it is know, bagataway, an ancient game played by the Ouendat Huron braves to build strength and agility in their youth and settle disputes between tribes, was being played on the soil of North Simcoe when the french first so named lacrosse in the early 1600's.

By 1867, Canada's year of confederation, Lacrosse was so enjoyed and became so popular it was pronounced Canada's National Sport. Rules were established and league formalized.

Since that time it continued to be a part of the Canadian fabric and is presently enjoying a resurgence.

The Midland Braves began in the late 1960's and was incorporated in 1992.

The club won it's first OLA Championship in 1984 and has earned a total of 16 since.
